The government has presented preliminary sizes and limits of compensation for gas, heat and electricity during the cold season of this season.
During a press conference on Thursday, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marcel Spatari said that the department has developed a corresponding draft resolution, which will be asked to approve the government. According to the project, the maximum compensated volume of natural gas will be 180 cubic meters per month, the rest of the consumption is not subject to compensation. Consumers who will be assigned a very high category of energy vulnerability (EV) will pay 12 lei per cubic meter of gas (another 17.27 lei per cubic meter is compensated by the government); consumers with high EV - 14 lei per cubic meter (15.27 lei per cubic meter will be compensated); with an average category of EV - 17 lei per cubic meter (12.27 lei - compensation), with a low category of EV - 24 lei per cubic meter (5.27 lei per cubic meter). Recall that at present the cost of gas for household consumers is 27.1 lei per cubic meter. As for heat energy, the compensation is limited to consumption of 1.3 Gcal per month. On average, consumers with very high EV will pay 1450 lei per Gcal, with high EV - 1700 lei/Gcal, with medium EV - 1950 lei/Gcal, with low EV - 2500 lei/Gcal. It should be noted that heat supply tariffs differ across the country, for example, the tariff for heat energy from Termoelectrica (Chisinau municipality) is 2854 lei per gigacalorie, CET Nord (Balti municipality) - 3052 lei/Gcal, etc. The maximum compensation for electricity for residential consumers will be provided within the limits of 75 kWh per month, while only the most vulnerable consumers will receive compensation. The final cost of 1 kWh for consumers with very high EV will be 3.3 lei, for consumers with high EV - 3.7 lei. Electricity tariffs also differ, depending on the supplier. For example, currently the tariff for electricity for residential consumers of Premier Energy is 4.77 lei/kWh, FEE Nord (Balti) - 4.81 lei/kWh. Marcel Spatari said that citizens can apply for compensation until November 24, since the assignment of the vulnerability category will occur automatically in the Energy Vulnerability system on November 25, in accordance with the data provided by the citizens. He clarified that so far 645,000 households have applied for compensation, including 268,000 applications made by social assistants and other authorized registrars.. Recall that this year consumers are divided into 5 categories: very high EV (energy costs account for 90% or more of household income), high (from 35% to 90%), medium (from 20% to 35%), low (from 10% to 20%), energetically invulnerable (less than 10%). Compensations will be provided from November 2022 to March 2022 inclusive. This year, the government will allocate about 5 billion lei to pay compensation, which is almost twice as much as last year. It is planned that the government will indirectly verify the information submitted by households when applying for compensation. Persons who reported underreported income data may subsequently be subject to checks. // 17.11.2022 — InfoMarket
