Massive power outages in Moldova were caused by the automatic shutdown of one of the power lines after the Russian bombardment of the energy system of Ukraine - Spinu.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu. He noted that as a result of the latest bombardment by Russia of the Ukrainian energy system, one of the power transmission lines, which provides transportation of electricity for our country, was turned off in automatic mode (automatic unloading by frequency). This led to massive power outages throughout Moldova. Andrei Spinu specified that these lines were not damaged, but were automatically disconnected for security reasons. SE "Moldelectrica" is working on the restoration of electricity connection.
