Moldelectrica restored power supply to all settlements affected by the emergency shutdown the day before.

Moldelectrica restored power supply to all settlements affected by the emergency shutdown the day before.

Head of the state-run Moldelectrica, Sergiu Aparatu, reported this, noting that when the emergency situation occurred yesterday, electricity consumers across the country, including in areas located on the left bank of the Nistru River, were disconnected. The electricity supply was restored thanks to a prompt intervention of the national dispatchers and an efficient cooperation with the dispatchers of the neighboring countries. At the same time, Sergiu Aparatu warned about the critical infrastructure of Moldova and urged investors not to make assumptions and speculations about the emergency situation that had occurred. He specified that, on the previous day, at 16:37, the power system of Moldova was accidentally disconnected from the Continental Europe Synchronous Area. This caused a frequency drop to 48.7 Hz and the activation of a special system of automatic consumption limitation. Operational services of the transmission system operator took measures to restore the scheme of reliable power supply system and supply all consumers of the country with electricity. Moldelectrica director said on a TV channel that Moldova is a part of a common power regulation unit with Ukraine, and when accidents occur in the Ukrainian power system, this has an immediate impact on the situation in Moldova. "We are in a common voltage regulation block with Ukraine and, accordingly, capacity. When there are outages, accidents in the Ukrainian power system, it directly affects us, because the power reserve, which provides the level of voltage and frequency regulation, disappears. Accordingly, the automation of the power system reacts to such disturbances and disconnects consumers in long stretches, in order to maintain the level of voltage and frequency on a qualitative level," Sergiu Aparatu said. The minister said that the high alert regime on the Moldovan electricity market persists. He urged the consumers to use electric energy responsibly. // 16.11.2022 – InfoMarket
