Moldova and Bulgaria are discussing the possibility of supplying Bulgarian electricity to our country.
This was stated by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, answering journalists' questions at a joint press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. He recalled that Bulgaria is the 3rd largest exporter of electricity in Europe, supplying 2,000 MW every day. “North Macedonia has asked us for electricity at preferential prices, but this is not possible, because electricity goes to the common European market, based on the conditions of this common energy market. Bulgaria is a member of the EU and uses the EU macro-financial assistance mechanism. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that North Macedonia will receive 80 million euros to supply it with electricity through this mechanism, and Bulgaria is ready to provide these supplies. I discussed with Maia Sandu the possibilities of access to these mechanisms provided by the EU, and we are ready to supply electricity to Moldova,” the President of Bulgaria said. For her part, Moldovan President Maia Sandu noted that the responsible institutions and companies will consider the pricing mechanism and discuss with Bulgarian producers the possibility of supplies if they agree on volumes and prices. //27.10.2022 — InfoMarket
