Moldovagaz, due to the Energocom loan of 1.05 billion lei, will be able to pay off the current debt to Gazprom - Vadim Ceban.

The Chairman of the Moldovagaz Board of Directors stated that, in September, the volume of gas bought by Moldovagaz amounted to 48.05 million cubic meters (27.4 million cubic meters for consumers and 20 million cubic meters for Energocom) at a cost of $1882.78 per 1,000 cubic meters. The total purchase price will amount to $90.46 million (1 billion 764 million lei). The sales of natural gas by Moldovagaz to end users, based on the September volumes and the effective average tariff for natural gas supplies to end users, approved on August 12 in the amount of 21908.88 lei (including VAT) or $123.53 per 1,000 cubic meters, are expected in October this year and will amount to 600.3 million lei ($30.78 million). Given the balance of funds of 61.3 million lei on Moldovagaz accounts as of the beginning of October, as well as advance payments received in October from Termoelectrica and other consumers of natural gas, the capacity of Moldovagaz to pay for imported natural gas will amount to 719.6 million lei ($36.9 million). Thus, the balance of unpaid obligations for September will amount to about $54 million (1 billion 050 million lei). Vadim Ceban explained that in order to fulfill current obligations on natural gas supply in time, Moldovagaz asked the Emergency Situations Commission to postpone payment of 392.2 million lei for VAT, and also to postpone Moldovagaz's payment obligations worth over 120 million lei to later periods. The most important decision of the Emergency Situations Commission was to carry out a loan transaction between Energocom and Moldovagaz. "Due to the mentioned sum, that is 1 billion 050 million lei, Moldovagaz company will be able to pay in full the current debts to PJSC Gazprom, avoiding at the same time a cash gap", the head of Moldovagaz said. //20.10.2022 - InfoMarket.
