Moldovagaz will ask ANRE to set a new gas tariff for household consumers at 29 lei per 1 cubic meter.

Moldovagaz will ask ANRE to set a new gas tariff for household consumers at 29 lei per 1 cubic meter.

This was stated by Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban in an interview to Moldova 1 TV channel. He reminded that the purchasing price of gas for Moldova in September increased by over $400 (+29%) as compared with the previous month and will amount to $1882.78 per 1,000 cubic meters. In this respect, Moldovagaz is holding consultations with ANRE on the procedure of filing a new application for tariffs actualization, given the new amendments to the Law on Gas coming into force as of September 10, which provide for a different, simplified procedure of filing applications for tariffs actualization under emergency conditions. Vadim Ceban said that taking into account the new purchasing price for gas in September, the gas tariff for household consumers should have been equal to 36 lei per 1 cubic meter. Since the formula for natural gas cost calculation stipulated in the contract will change starting from October 1, and 70% of the price will be formed depending on the cost of oil products (gasoil and fuel oil) and 30% will depend on stock-exchange quotations, Moldovagaz will take into account the new price for October and will present its proposals on the new tariff to ANRE on September 15-20, when all calculations will be done. The Moldovagaz head specified that the company's application to ANRE will be based on the calculations presented earlier, in July, of 29 lei per 1 cubic meter of gas for household consumers. "We will see what the energy regulator's decision will be in the end, but we are accumulating tariff deviations and debts to Gazprom, and we have to compensate them through the tariff, because there is no other way to pay the supplier for the gas consumed by us. This payment is now made in full only with the help of the government. So we will apply to the ANRE to update the tariff, but in compliance with all the new procedures," said Vadim Ceban. He also mentioned that the company is not interested in raising the tariffs for the consumers at any cost, but it is important for it to be able to fulfill its financial obligations towards the supplier, especially during the heating season which is coming soon. // 05.09.2022 - InfoMarket
