
Termoelectrica announced a tender for the purchase of 20,000 tons of fuel oil in reserve to be used in case of gas supply interruption.
It is planned that for the purchase of fuel oil Termoelectrica will request proposals from potential sellers and through the established procurement team will select the winner(s) according to technical, economic and financial criteria and conclude a fuel sales contract(s) with the selected seller(s) for a limited period with the possibility of extension. Termoelectrica will be guided by the lowest price criterion to select the winning bid(s). Representatives of the National Anti-Corruption Center, the Information and Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office will be invited as observers to the procurement team. Termoelectrica said that it invites bidders to the auction for the purchase of fuel oil (M100 grade) or its analog, and the invitation to participate and other necessary documents will be published both in the Public Procurement Bulletin - www.tender.gov.md, and in the Official Journal of the European Union - www.eur-lex.europa.eu and on Termoelectrica website. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu said that it is planned to increase and replenish state stocks of fuel oil for the diversification of alternative energy sources of natural gas. Fuel oil is an alternative to natural gas for Termoelectrica to produce electricity and provide thermal energy to Chisinau municipality. The amount needed is 216,000 tons of fuel oil and could replace approximately 312 million cubic meters of gas, which is the estimated consumption for October-April 2022-2023.
