
Import of petroleum products to Moldova in the first half of 2022 rose by 6.9% - from 385.32 thousand tons to 411.9 thousand tons, relative to the same period of 2021.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) informed that, the import of gasoline in January-June 2022 decreased by 3.5% to 78,758.6 tons, diesel fuel - by 11.7% to 307,493.3 tons, and liquefied gas - by 10% to 25,650.8 tons compared to the same period last year. According to the data from ANRE, 26 companies had licenses for import and wholesale of gasoline and diesel fuel at the end of the first half of 2022 (22 companies at the end of the same period last year), and 14 companies had licenses for import and wholesale of liquefied gas (12 companies a year ago). Retail sales of gasoline and diesel fuel were handled by 85 license holders (87 at the end of the same period last year), who worked at 660 gas stations, and liquefied gas by 74 license holders (74 at the end of the previous year) at 551 automobile gas stations. Overall, 199 license holders were present in the market as of the end of June 2022 (195 as of the end of June of the previous year). In the first half of 2022, ANRE issued and renewed a total of 36 licenses for petroleum products market activity, including 22 licenses extended for the next 5 years.
