After a long period of decline, retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in Moldova have started rising again.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) announced this, noting that this was due to the fact that events on the international market for petroleum products entered a phase of stability with an upward trend in quotations. As a result, this week (August 15-21) fuel prices rose slightly after 8 consecutive weeks of decline. Thus, during this period, prices for COR 95 gasoline increased by 8 bani per liter (+0.3%), and for standard diesel fuel - by 29 bani per liter (+1.1%). According to ANRE, the increase in prices this week is due to the growth of Platts quotations for petroleum products on international exchanges, an indicator that is the basis of the current methodology for determining the price level. According to experts, one of the main factors affecting the quotes is the continued instability of crude oil supplies to refineries and the shortage of petroleum products in the main markets of the European continent. For the next three days, August 20-22, the following maximum retail prices for the main standard oil products were set: gasoline COR 95 - 25.69 lei/liter (+8 bani); standard diesel fuel - 25.94 lei/liter (+16 bani). ANRE assures end users of the correctness of the maximum sales prices for the main standard oil products and reiterates that the current pricing mechanism ensures fair and transparent prices that reliably reflect both growth and decline trends in international quotations. // 19.08.2022- InfoMarket.
