The Ministry of Economy is holding consultations on the draft Program for the Re-technologization and Energy Efficiency Improvement of Small and Medium Enterprises in Moldova.

The 3-year program aims to increase the productivity of SMEs, replace inefficient equipment with modern technological solutions, and optimize production costs through energy efficiency measures. It includes 3 components: informing potential beneficiaries about the program and its benefits and promotion of the program, non-reimbursable financial assistance, evaluation and monitoring. The grant component provides for two categories of support: up to 2 million lei for re-technologization (automation of production, robotization of products, modernization of existing production lines, etc.) and up to 1 million lei for the installation of equipment and systems for the production of renewable energy (solar panels with a heating system, photovoltaic panels for electricity production, process equipment for biogas production, etc.). In both cases, the grant component cannot exceed 50% of the project cost, and the beneficiary must provide independently, guaranteeing a reduction in electricity consumption as a result of project implementation by at least 15%. The program will be implemented by ODIMM and its budget is estimated at 50 million lei per year. Funds will be allocated from the state budget, as well as from resources provided by external and local donors. Consultations on the draft program are open until July 12: https://bit.ly/3I4WaAe. // 01.07.2022 - InfoMarket
