ANRE has extended by another month, until July 15, the deadline for considering applications for confirmation of the status of an eligible renewable energy producer.

This decision was adopted by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) in order to ensure full consideration of applications submitted for allocation of capacity quotas to potential eligible producers of electricity from renewable sources. In reviewing these applications, the energy regulator must ensure compliance with the provisions of the Renewable Energy Promotion Act, according to which a producer may not request confirmation of eligible producer status to develop 2 or more power plants using the same type of renewable energy generation technologies, if their installed/cumulative capacity is higher than the capacity limit established by the Government. According to ANRE, in order to comply with the aforementioned legal provisions and to analyze all materials regarding the 173 applications for confirmation of eligible producer status submitted by June 14, the applications will be systematized for the meeting of ANRE Management Board in accordance with the "first come, first served" principle. However, taking into account the excessive amount of information to be processed and the limited number of persons that can be involved in this process, ANRE informed about the extension of the deadline for application review until July 14. It should be noted that ANRE had previously extended the review period for these applications until June 15. ANRE said it would provide additional information on the results of the review. InfoMarket Agency announced earlier that ANRE was accepting applications for approval of the status of eligible producer and allocation of quotas for electricity from renewable energy sources at fixed rates: from April 1 - for applicants with projects based on constantly renewable sources (biomass, biogas, synthesis gas and hydropower); from April 8 - for applicants with projects based on wind energy and from April 15 - for applicants with projects based on solar energy. // 15.06.2022 – InfoMarket
