The government is not sure that Gazprom will continue to supply gas to Moldova in June, so it was decided to buy 25 million cubic meters of gas from the state company Energocom from the previously accumulated reserve - Andrei Spinu.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced this while answering journalists' questions. He recalled that gas reserves were accumulated in February and March. In order for these reserves to be at the disposal of the state, it was decided to buy these volumes of gas from Energocom. Thus, this gas has become the property of the state and can be used if necessary. “Most of it is in the Romanian gas transmission system - more than 20 million cubic meters, other volumes - in Moldova and Ukraine. Now, with our colleagues from Romania, we will decide whether these volumes of gas will remain in the gas transmission system or will be stored in storage facilities on the territory of the neighboring country,” said Andrei Spinu. He admitted that while the government is not sure that Gazprom will continue to supply gas to Moldova in June. “Moldovagaz is in constant contact with Gazprom, we are in contact with Moldovagaz. As I said earlier, it is sometimes difficult for me to predict something, we stand for correct, predictable relations. Now this is not so. We will act according to the situation,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. // 24.05.2022- InfoMarket.
