This data was presented by Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban in his telegram channel. He explained that the price of natural gas purchase for Moldova is based on the contract conditions, which determine the formula of price formation at the entry points of the Moldovan gas transport system and compensation of expenses for transporting through Ukraine in case of nomination of volumes exceeding the annual capacity (constant volume during the year). Vadim Ceban said that, for example, the price of natural gas actually paid in December 2021 amounted to $449.64 per thousand cubic meters and compensation of transportation costs - $8.17 per thousand cubic meters, making a total price of $457.81 per thousand cubic meters. The share of compensation for transportation costs amounted to 1.8%. According to him, these costs are paid only in III and IV quarters, which reduces their share in the average annual purchase price (the forecast for 2022 is 0.9%). According to the data presented, in January 2022, the price of natural gas purchased under the contract with Gazprom2 was $669.29 per 1,000 cu. m., the compensation of costs for transportation through the territory of Ukraine - $8.21 per 1,000 cu. m., the total price was $677.5 per 1,000 cu. m. In February 2022, the price of natural gas purchased under contract with Gazprom was $563.71 per 1 thousand cu. m., reimbursement of expenses for transportation to Ukraine - $10.28 per 1 thousand cu. m., the total price was $573.99 per 1 thousand cu. m. In March 2022, the price of natural gas purchased under contract with Gazprom was $548.81 per thousand cubic meters, and the reimbursement of expenses for transportation by Ukraine - $7.66 per thousand cubic meters, bringing the total price to $556.47 per thousand cubic meters. In April and May, 2022, the price of Russian gas from Gazprom was $1194.81 and $919.49 per thousand cubic meters, respectively.
