Moldova will sign a new Protocol of Cooperation with France
Parliament's press service reported this, noting that members of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration approved the conclusion of this document between the Moldovan and French Foreign Ministries. The cooperation protocol will replace the document signed in 1993. The new protocol is necessary, as the Moldovan-French relations have been actively developing over the past years, and new goals and priorities have been set. These include security cooperation, Moldova's European integration, cooperation within the European Political Community, assistance within Moldova Partnership Platform, as well as assistance provided by the French Development Agency. The document envisages rounds of consultations of foreign ministers, to be held at least twice a year, the creation of bilateral working groups and the implementation of joint projects. The protocol also contains provisions on cooperation in areas related to European integration, such as the implementation of reforms and the process of transposition of EU norms. The document will also reflect aspects aimed at security cooperation in Europe, in particular within the OSCE and the European Political Community. According to the authorities, this fact will contribute to the sustainability and visibility of Moldova. After the ratification of the protocol, it will be possible to organize seminars and visits between research institutions in the field of international relations. Thus, this will contribute to the institutional capacity building and improvement of diplomats or officials working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After the signing, the protocol on cooperation between the Moldovan and French Foreign Ministries is to be ratified by the Parliament. // 06.11.2024 – InfoMarket
