Moldova and Saudi Arabia have signed an intergovernmental cooperation agreement to boost trade and promote investments

The document was signed by Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popşoi and Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud within the Moldovan Foreign Minister's visit to Saudi Arabia. The Moldovan Foreign Ministry said that this visit to Saudi Arabia is the first official visit of the Moldovan diplomat to Saudi Arabia since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1996. During the meeting, the diplomats signed an agreement under which the two states undertake to expand trade relations, promote investments and cooperate in the fields of education, science, sports, youth and technologies by implementing mutually beneficial bilateral projects. The sides also discussed ways to boost trade between Moldova and Saudi Arabia. The Moldovan diplomat emphasized Moldova's willingness to export Moldovan products to the Saudi market, especially from the agricultural and agri-food sector. At the same time, Mihai Popşoi stressed the importance of opening a direct flight between Moldova and Saudi Arabia, which will facilitate travels between the two countries. // 05.11.2024 - InfoMarket
