
Prime Minister Dorin Recean urged American companies to expand their business in Moldova
He said this at a meeting with a group of businessmen from the USA, members of the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA), held in New York, within the framework of his participation in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. Attending the meeting were representatives of the following American companies: Romotana, Citi, RABC, SIG Sauer, McKinsey, RACC, AC Language School. Prime Minister told the business people about the investment opportunities in Moldova, noting that the authorities are open and offer all the necessary support for the business development. “The sectors that offer you a lot of opportunities and that show a constant growth are information technologies, electronics, finance, wine industry,” Dorin Recean emphasized. During the discussions, Prime Minister also presented opportunities in the energy sector, noting that Moldova is a member of the ENTSO-E European network of electricity transmission system operators. He also emphasized that the banking market in Moldova is becoming more and more secure and attractive. Another aspect of interest is education, culture and projects for young people. The AC Language School company is already negotiating with the relevant ministry. In this context, Prime Minister emphasized the improvement of the quality of education at Moldovan universities, the current year being the first of the last 20, when the number of enrolled students increased by 15 per cent. “We are firmly on the path of European integration and we are adjusting the legislation so that the foreign investments are as protected as in the EU member states,” Prime Minister said.
