
A PACE pre-election mission will visit Moldova from 16 to 19 September to assess the electoral campaign and the political climate in the country in the context of the presidential elections and the October 20 constitutional referendum
The members of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will hold meetings in Chisinau with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov. The agenda of the visit also includes discussions with the chairman of the National Integrity Authority, Lilian Chisca, the chairman of the Broadcasting Council, Liliana Vitu, and members of the Central Electoral Commission. The delegation of the PACE electoral mission has scheduled meetings with the main presidential candidates and leaders of political parties, representatives of non-governmental organizations involved in election observation and representatives of the mass media. On October 20, Moldova will hold presidential elections simultaneously with the constitutional referendum on the amendments to the Constitution for Moldova's accession to the European Union.
