Moldova and Ukraine signed an agreement on the implementation of the Espoo Convention.
According to the Ministry of Environment, the main purpose of the convention is to assess the environmental impact in a transboundary context. The corresponding bill was adopted at a government meeting on August 7. Thanks to the agreement, Moldova and Ukraine will cooperate more effectively by notifying each other about activities that may affect the environment in the other country and participating in joint environmental assessment procedures. In addition, as previously reported, a joint commission will be created to assess the environmental impact. Moldova joined the Espoo Convention in 1993. // 16.08.2024 — InfoMarket.
