
Electoral period before presidential elections and constitutional referendum begins in Moldova on August 1
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reminded that the electoral period lasts until the day when the election results are approved, but cannot exceed 120 days. During the pre-election period, the CEC coordinates the work of electoral bodies, registers initiative groups and presidential candidates and referendum participants. Also during this time, it organizes the work of polling stations, including training of its staff, updates and publishes voter lists, conducts voter information activities, prepares ballot papers and other election-related materials, and conducts the elections and referendum themselves. According to the approved schedule, the CEC, registration and collection of signatures in support of presidential candidates will begin on August 21, and the election campaign will start on September 20.
