
The Parliament of Moldova convenes for an extraordinary session on January 17-18.
This was reported by the press service of the highest legislative body, noting that the Permanent Bureau approved the decision to convene parliament for an extraordinary session at the proposal of Speaker Igor Grosu. The draft agenda for the plenary session of the extraordinary session of Parliament, approved by the Permanent Bureau, includes bills related to the assessment of institutional integrity, justice reform, electoral legislation and political parties. Parliament will have to consider a bill to improve the electoral process and ensure transparency and fairness in elections. Amendments to the Law on the Prosecutor's Office and the Law on the Assessment of Institutional Integrity will also be approved in the second reading. In the final reading will be discussed a legislative initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of the National Institute of Justice and the competence of the auditors of this institution. MPs will also consider amendments to the National Register of Public Monuments. Parliamentary commissions will meet on January 17-18, and the plenary session will be held on Thursday, January 18, from 11.00.
