
Ion Ceban has received more than 50.6% of the votes in the local elections; he may take the seat of Chisinau mayor for a second term.
According to the preliminary election results published on the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) website, 132.8 thousand voters (50.62%) cast their votes for MAN candidate Ion Ceban. At the same time, 74.07 thousand voters (28.2%) voted for the PAS candidate Lilian Carp. According to the Electoral Code, the victory in the first round goes to the candidate, if he/she gains more than half of the votes (50%+1 vote). A total of 28 candidates competed for the seat of the general mayor. At the same time, the MAN and PAS parties received the most votes in the selection of candidates for municipal councilors: 33.1% and 32.9% respectively. According to the calculations of the alegeri.md platform, these political formations can get 20 seats each in the municipal council. Also, representatives of the Party of Socialists (6 seats), Party of Communists (2), DA Platform, Party "Revival" and "Our Party" - 1 each. At the same time, in Balti municipality repeated elections of the mayor will be held, as none of the candidates overcame the threshold of 50% of votes. At the same time, the candidates from "Our Party" Alexandr Petcov (22.69%) and the independent candidate Arina Corsicova (21.52%) entered the second round. Among the candidates for municipal councilors in Balti municipality the most votes were received by "Our Party" (24.8%), Party of Socialists (22.1%), PAS (13.6%), FASM party (about 11%). In Comrat municipality independent candidates Serghei Anastasov (45.43%) and Nicolai Dudoglo (30.03%) are going to the second round, and in Ceadir-Lunga municipality independent candidate Anatoli Topal received about 73.9% of votes.
