The United States will allocate $18 million to strengthen the energy sector of Moldova, increase its energy security and energy independence.
This was stated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken after a meeting in Chisinau with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. He said Moldova's energy independence is vital, stressing that energy security is an important element for the country's independence. Antony Blinken said that the United States is working to support Moldova in strengthening energy security and diversifying energy supplies and will provide both financial and expert support for this. “We’ll be working very, very closely with Moldova as we have been already to help produce greater diversification, greater energy security in the coming years. I think this is something vital to pursue for all countries, and we know also what can happen when any country is – it’s the case for many – overly reliant on others that prove in one way or another not to be reliable suppliers,” the US Secretary of State said. // 07.03.2022 - InfoMarket
