
The government will ask the parliament to declare state of emergency in Moldova - Maia Sandu.
As President of Moldova stated, such a decision was adopted during the meeting of the Supreme Security Council on February 24, which dealt with the situation in Ukraine. Maia Sandu stressed that this morning Russia launched a military strike against Ukraine, flagrantly violating the norms of international law. The international community unanimously condemned this act of war. In this regard, a meeting of the Supreme Security Council was convened to analyze the situation. As a result, it was decided that the government would ask parliament to declare a state of emergency. Also today, the Emergency Situations Commission will be convened to carry out a series of actions necessary to overcome the crisis and solve the problems of humanitarian nature. President of Moldova ordered the reinforcement of patrolling by the Interior Ministry's subdivisions, in order to prevent possible provocations.
