The parliamentary meeting scheduled for Wednesday to consider the vote of no confidence in the government of Ion Chicu has been canceled due to Prime Minister's decision to resign.
This was stated by Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii at a joint briefing with President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Ion Chicu. She said the decision of Ion Chicu to resign in order to initiate snap elections is correct. Zinaida Grecianii noted that tomorrow the MPs will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect, Maia Sandu, and subsequently they will gather to work already in the New 2021 Year, after the start of the spring session in February. The speaker thanked the President of Moldova Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Ion Chicu for cooperation during this difficult period, noting that after a long period, good cooperation was established in the country vertically and horizontally: the government, the presidential administration and the parliament. "It is important that these three ruling branches pull the same cart and thus things in the country will move towards the right direction. Despite challenges, it was so this year, which turned out to be difficult," said the Parliament Speaker. // 23.12.2020 - InfoMarket.
