Japan will continue funding Moldova's agricultural machinery and equipment modernization program and expand cooperation in the wine industry
This was discussed during a meeting held in Tokyo by Ministry of Agriculture Secretary General Sergiu Gherciu with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). According to the Ministry of Agriculture, important projects for Moldovan farmers were discussed during a dialogue with Kataro Hanaka, Head of the JICA Office in Ukraine and Moldova, responsible for crisis response and recovery. These included the second phase of funding for the MAME (Modernization of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment) program, the reconstruction of centralized irrigation systems necessary for climate change adaptation, and the expansion of cooperation in the wine industry, as well as the identification of new areas of collaboration.
