According to the Embassy of Japan in Moldova, the Kusanone program supports projects proposed by various organizations, non-governmental institutions, and local governments. It provides grants for financial assistance to hospitals, local governments, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, and other non-profit organizations to support the implementation of their development projects. The maximum grant amount per project is 10 million Japanese yen (equivalent to approximately 112,000 lei). Priority funding is provided in the following areas: assistance to vulnerable groups, education, healthcare, public welfare, and the environment. Applications can be submitted from November 1 to 28. Grant agreements are typically signed during the following Japanese fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The agreement period is 12 months from the date of signing, including the following stages.
