With the start of the new academic year, the Higher Technical College of Electronics and Computer Technology, established by the Austrian College in Moldova, started operating in the Balti Free Economic Zone
As Marin Ciobanu, administrator of the Balti Free Economic Zone, told InfoMarket, the decision to establish this educational institution was adopted by the Moldovan Ministry of Education and Science and the Austrian government after lengthy negotiations. The project involves Austrian investments, including the construction of a modern building worth over €2 million, and training in German and English with the participation of teachers from Austria. Marin Ciobanu noted that similar initiatives have already proven their effectiveness: the opening of an Austrian college in Albania 10 years ago attracted hundreds of investors from German-speaking countries, ensuring a significant flow of capital investment and the creation of tens of thousands of jobs. Moldova became the seventh country in which such an educational institution has been opened. The college trains specialists in electronics, renewable energy electronics, microelectronics, automotive electronics, digital technology, and other fields. This academic year, two groups with a total of 50 students have been opened. “The opening of the Austrian College in Moldova is an important step for our country, opening up prospects both for young people and for attracting foreign investment,” Marin Ciobanu emphasized. // 02.09.2025 – InfoMarket.
