Moldova and Japan have great potential for cooperation - Doina Nistor
The Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, who is on a working visit to Japan, wrote on social media that Moldova and Japan have great potential for cooperation in areas such as IT and digitalization, green energy, the agri-food sector, automotive manufacturing, and healthcare. During her visit, Doina Nistor met with representatives of IBPC Osaka, a municipal organization that supports the internationalization of SMEs, attracts investment, and manages one of the largest exhibition centers in western Japan. “This organization's experience in connecting local companies to global networks inspires us on how we can promote small and medium-sized enterprises and startups from Moldova,” the Minister said. A meeting was also held at JETRO Osaka, the Japanese government agency for trade and investment, to discuss the potential for attracting new investment projects to Moldova and opportunities for integrating Moldovan companies into international value chains. The Minister emphasized that Japan has extensive experience in supporting startups and promoting innovation—a model of cooperation that Moldova needs in its economic modernization process. "Moldova and Japan have enormous potential for cooperation in areas such as IT and digitalization, green energy, the agri-food sector, automotive manufacturing, and healthcare. Osaka's experience in creating infrastructure for innovation parks and international cooperation can inspire Moldova's next steps, including the construction of Moldova HiTech Park and Agrotek Park," said Doina Nistor. She also reported that the Moldovan delegation visited the pavilions of Japan, Romania, the European Union, Ukraine, and Moldova at the Expo Osaka 2025 World Exhibition, noting that the national pavilion at this event is a unique opportunity to present our values and our economy to the world. The Minister also reminded that August 31 has been declared Moldova's national day at the exhibition. Prime Minister Dorin Recean plans to attend the event. //29.08.2025 – InfoMarket.
