
JICA will continue to provide assistance to Moldova through financial and technical cooperation instruments for strategic projects
This was announced by the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Akihiko Tanaka, at a meeting in Chisinau with Moldovan Finance Minister Victoria Belous. According to the Ministry of Finance, the meeting took place in the context of strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation. The agenda included topics such as JICA's support to Moldova in various sectors, the current macroeconomic situation, and our country's economic prospects in the context of the EU accession process. Victoria Belous expressed her gratitude for Japan's openness and continued support to our country. “We deeply appreciate the support provided, especially at a time when Moldova is implementing difficult reforms and facing serious regional challenges. Your support is not just a gesture of solidarity, but a real contribution to our European future,” said Victoria Belous. In turn, Tanaka Akihiko confirmed JICA's commitment to aligning its assistance with the priorities of the Moldovan government and noted that JICA will continue to contribute through financial and technical cooperation instruments for strategic projects in Moldova. At the same time, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on opportunities for cooperation on issues related to budget processes, public procurement, capital investment, and debt management.
