The grant aid under the Interreg NEXT Romania-Republic of Moldova 2021-2027 program will increase by 20 million euros, up to 97.3 million euros

This is stipulated by Amendment No. 1 to the Financing Agreement between Moldova, the European Commission and the Romanian Ministry for Development, Public Works and Administration for the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania- Republic of Moldova program, the ratification of which was approved by the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers. The agreement itself was signed on August 11, 2023. The amendment provides for an increase in the total budget of the program from 77.3 million to 97.3 million euros. These grant funds are meant for joint projects implemented by Romanian and Moldovan partners in the following fields: health, education, tourism, culture, climate change, good governance and border management. In 2023, 2 calls for small and standard projects were launched, resulting in 277 proposals. The standard call is currently being evaluated, after which contracts will be awarded for the most significant projects. On November 7, 2024, the Monitoring Committee approved 33 small projects for funding and announced the launch of a new competition in 2025. According to the government, Moldova has so far received significant financing within the mentioned program, and the new call for projects is scheduled for the end of April. // 23.04.2025 - InfoMarket.
