Chisinau hosts Startup Moldova Summit 2025, one of the largest innovation and investment events in the region
It brings together more than 50 international investors and 1000 participants from 30 countries. Startups, entrepreneurs, investors and technology experts met on the event platform, which was a great opportunity to present their products and create strategic connections for business development and fundraising. This year, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more and experience global trends in areas such as artificial intelligence, fintech, and diptech, as well as strengthen important partnerships for the future of their businesses. Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor said that just 4 years ago, Startup Moldova ignited a powerful idea - to turn our country into a vibrant center of innovation and entrepreneurship in the heart of Europe. “Today, the results speak for themselves: more than 250 active local startups, thousands of supported talents, international partnerships. This remarkable transformation is not a coincidence - it is made possible by you, entrepreneurs who have the courage to take risks, it is supported by us, a government that firmly believes in the power of innovation, and it is reinforced by our partners, especially the European Union,” she said. At the same time, Doina Nistor said we are only at the beginning of the journey. “We are committed to supporting the creation of even more start-ups, engineers and innovators. Talent doesn't have a zip code - and neither should opportunity. Moldova is not just a country with potential; we are a future EU member state. And those who invest today will be the first to benefit from Moldova's full integration into the European economy and will be able to build partnerships with exceptional local talent and our resources,” she emphasized. The development of the startup ecosystem in Moldova is also supported by European partners, who contribute through funding, technological support and innovation initiatives. The Summit will focus on the impact of these initiatives on the economy, as Moldova is preparing for an investment of €1.9 billion under the EU Growth Plan, aimed at supporting innovation, digitalization and startups. In this context, entrepreneurs and startups will have access to European support through projects such as EU4Innovation East, which will strengthen the local innovation ecosystem over the next 4 years. // 17.04.2025 - InfoMarket.
