
Cybercor, a national institute for cybersecurity innovations, will open on September 18 with an investment of $2 million
Cybercor is located in the premises of the Technical University of Moldova and occupies a total area of 800 square meters. It has 4 laboratories specialized in modeling cybersecurity threats and training cybersecurity teams, training and simulation rooms, as well as a conference hall that will host events with up to 300 participants. Cybercor's total investment in infrastructure and equipment reaches $2 million, of which $1.5 million is a contribution from USAID, Sweden and the UK under the Future Technologies Activity (FTA), and $0.5 million is an investment from the Technical University and the Moldovan government. The Cybercor National Institute for Cybersecurity Innovations will promote innovation and best practices in theoretical and practical education to train cyber specialists from civil servants, central and local governments, and students. The institution aims to contribute to strengthening Moldova's cyber security and protecting critical infrastructure from growing threats in the context of the war in Ukraine, as well as from other potential regional cyber threats. The official opening of Cybercor will take place on September 18, and it will be accompanied by the international conference CyberCon Moldova on the topic “Education - the Basis of a Sustainable Cyberculture”. The event will be attended by government representatives, Cybercor partners, cyber security experts from Moldova and abroad, teachers and students.
