Moldovan authorities are taking measures to develop a strong industry and attract more foreign investors

This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba during a meeting with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund led by Deputy Director of the IMF European Department Mark Horton. The parties analyzed the reform program, which is designed to stimulate the economic development of the country. Dumitru Alaiba emphasized that Moldova needs a strong industry for its economy to develop. According to him, through the National Industrial Development Program for 2024-2028, specific goals have been set: to increase the contribution of the manufacturing industry to GDP to 11.5%, to increase the volume of exported industrial products by 25% and to increase the number of jobs in the industrial sector by 15%. At the same time, the authorities are actively working to attract as many foreign investors as possible. “We really have something to offer. We recently approved the National Program for Attracting Investments and Stimulating Exports, which will help us with this. The IMF is a strategic partner supporting us in our efforts to build a truly European economy. Thank you for your support!” said Dumitru Alaiba. // 10.07.2024 – InfoMarket.
