Moldova will have access to EU grants amounting to 215 million euros to finance projects destined for the Danube region.

In particular, this is envisaged by the financing agreement between Moldova, the European Commission and the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office for the Interreg IV-B program 2021-2027, ratified by the Parliament. According to the document, Moldovan beneficiaries will be able to access grants worth 215 million euros offered by the European Commission for joint social development projects in the Danube region, implemented within the framework of an enhanced transnational partnership. The Danube Region Program aims to improve public policies and institutional cooperation by funding the following priorities: competitiveness and intelligence, green communities and better management of cooperation in the Danube Region. The projects will contribute to the development of cooperation between Moldova, the European Commission and the other 14 participating states. The funding agreement between Moldova, the European Commission and the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office for the Interreg IV-B Danube Region Program 2021-2027 was signed on August 11.
