The government will allocate 10 million lei to support women's entrepreneurship.

At the meeting of the working group "Women's economic empowerment and gender equality" within the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, the draft Program for the development of women's entrepreneurship was discussed, which is planned to be sent to the government for approval in September. The director of the Entrepreneurship Development Organization, Dumitru Pintea, presented the main measures that the new programme will offer: gratuitous financial assistance to start-up entrepreneurs; gratuitous financial assistance to developing businesses; technical assistance to support developing businesses; promotion of the image of women entrepreneurs. 10 million lei are planned for the implementation of the program. Thus, the beneficiaries of the program will have access to gratuitous financing of up to 80% of the investment project amount (maximum 200 thousand lei), while the beneficiary's contribution should be at least 20% of the total amount of the project. At the same time, the program envisages financial support for e-commerce activities for enterprises managed by women, in the amount of up to 50 thousand lei. During the meeting, representatives of the business community supported this program, proposing a number of amendments. All the proposals of the business community and other stakeholders will be studied and taken into account when finalizing the draft, the public consultations on which will be completed in the next two weeks. // 30.08.2023 – InfoMarket
