Germany has contributed 40 million euros to the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund and finances many projects in Moldova, while German investments provide jobs for thousands of citizens - Maia Sandu.

Moldovan President said this at a meeting in Chisinau with German Bundestag chairwoman Berbel Bas. This is the second visit of the German Bundestag chairperson to Moldova since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the meeting, Maia Sandu said that Germany is an important and loyal partner of Moldova. "German investments provide jobs for thousands of Moldovan citizens. Germany finances water supply and drainage projects in many localities in the country, as well as supports projects for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. This winter, Germany contributed 40 million euros to the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, which was used to compensate electricity and gas bills," President said. At the same time, President Maia Sandu emphasized that Germany had recently announced an additional grant for renewable energy production and energy efficiency projects. These and many other projects mean concrete benefits for our citizens. "German partners are helping us strengthen the defense and interior sectors to provide greater security for our citizens. Germany also supports our goal of European integration and helps us to strengthen the capacity of state institutions to move faster along this path," said Maia Sandu. // 13.07.2023 – InfoMarket
