Moldova will receive grants of 48.7 million euros from Germany for the implementation of projects in the field of energy efficiency, water supply and sewerage.
The press-service of the parliament has informed about it, having noticed that granting of this gratuitous financial aid provides the corresponding agreement with the government of Germany negotiations on the conclusion of which were approved on Wednesday by the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration. The money will be used to finance two projects in Moldova: "Green energy production and energy efficiency" (38.7 million euros) and "Water supply and wastewater treatment in Cahul district II stage" (10 million euros). Thus, most of the money provided will be invested in the national program of energy rehabilitation of Moldova's real estate fund, which targets both public institutions (kindergartens, schools, city and district hospitals) and residential buildings. The project provides for the performance of works to improve the energy performance of buildings: reconstruction of heating, ventilation, heat distribution and lighting systems. At the same time, 10 million euros provided by the German government will be used to finance the project "Water supply and wastewater treatment in Cahul district II stage". Additional sources of financing are necessary to cover the budget deficit of the project, which envisages installation of a new water main, rehabilitation of some water supply sections in Cahul municipality, expansion of the city sewerage system and repair of 2 sewage pumping stations. // 17.05.2023 – InfoMarket
