This was discussed during a meeting that Minister of Economy Dumitru Alaiba held with the head of the USAID mission in our country, Scott Hocklander. According to the Ministry of Economy, the parties discussed programs implemented by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as priorities for the coming years. Dumitru Alaiba presented important tasks for the next period and actions already taken to attract investment and support the business environment. The head of the USAID mission praised the activities of the ministry and confirmed the intention to continue the ongoing projects to support the activities of the government. In addition, the parties discussed business support programs, especially small and medium-sized ones, as well as the provisions of the labor and tax codes aimed at improving the efficiency of entrepreneurs. According to the Ministry of Economy, since 1992, the United States has provided Moldova with more than $1.7 billion in aid. At present, USAID is the largest development partner from the United States in our country. In Moldova, USAID Moldova operates on the basis of the Country Development Cooperation Strategy for 2020-2025, which provides for two development goals: consolidated participatory democracy and sustainable economic growth based on Euro-Atlantic integration. // 14.12.2022 — InfoMarket
