The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) is ready to support Moldova in the development of projects.

President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Serkan Kayalar stated this at a meeting with Minister of Economy Sergiu Gaibu, which took place in Ankara as part of the 10th meeting of the Moldovan-Turkish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. The head of the Ministry of Economy stressed the importance of continuing the projects started and determining the need for assistance in the future. According to Sergiu Gaibu, the priority areas are the energy sector, agriculture, the refugee crisis and business development, noting that Moldova would appreciate the support of strategic development partners, one of the most important of which is Turkey. The head of TIKA, in turn, confirmed his readiness to support Moldova and stressed that these industries are equally important for Turkey. According to him, the TIKA office in Chisinau can help the authorities with the formulation of projects in these areas. According to the Ministry of Economy, so far the total assistance provided by TİKA to Moldova is $33 million.
