Over the 20 years of operation, the FEZ Ungheni-Business has attracted investments in the amount of about $105 million and transferred taxes in the amount of 39.2 million lei to the budget.
These are the results of the activities of the free economic zone in Ungheni, which celebrated its 20th anniversary. Currently, this FEZ, which has become the second in terms of socio-economic indicators and significance in the country, has 42 residents from various sectors of the economy: electrical engineering and electronics, clothing, textiles, furniture, automotive, construction, services, foreign trade. This FEZ exports the largest range of products compared to other zones: carpets, woolen and synthetic threads, furniture, clothing, shoes, automotive varnishes and paints, electronic/electrical cables and wiring, automotive equipment, thermal and waterproofing materials, wooden houses on wheels, etc. According to the administration of the FEZ Ungheni-Business, at the end of the first quarter of 2022, the total sales volume of the residents of the zone exceeded 792.7 million lei. The total volume of attracted investments amounted to $104.87 million, they came from both Moldova and other countries - the Netherlands, Cyprus, Italy, France, Belgium, Romania, Russia, etc. 2961 jobs were created in the Ungheni FEZ. FEZ Ungheni-Business was established by the decision of the Parliament of Moldova in 2002 for 42 years. To date, its area, including 4 sub-zones in Nisporeni, Calarasi, Soroca and Hincesti, exceeds 145 hectares.
