Romania will provide Moldova with additional gratuitous assistance - a grant of 10 million euros to support the budget.

This was stated by Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu, speaking on April 5 in Berlin at the launched international Moldova Support Conference. He noted that the decision was made taking into account the fact that Moldova especially needs assistance in the current situation. The head of Romanian diplomacy also recalled that Romania allocates 100 million euros in gratuitous assistance to Moldova, which will be implemented through development projects. Bogdan Aurescu also recalled that in the context of the current crisis of Ukrainian refugees, Romania provided assistance to Moldova for 3.8 million euros, which consists of 5,000 tons of fuel oil and significant volumes of other fuels. He also mentioned humanitarian supplies - more than 72 tons of aid, mainly essential items - for Ukrainian refugees, noted the organization of "green corridors" for the accelerated daily movement of refugees from Ukraine directly to Romania, the reception of Ukrainian refugees from Moldova by road and rail, in order to avoid additional load on its already overloaded infrastructure. The Romanian Foreign Minister stressed that the Moldova Support Platform, which has suffered the most from the Ukrainian refugee crisis, is not a one-time event, but a long-term one, and this event will help to adapt international assistance to the specific needs of the Moldovan authorities, both in the current context and in medium and long term after the end of the current crisis. He noted that the EU will help Moldova with carrying out deep reforms, modernizing the state, fighting corruption, improving security, including energy security. Bogdan Aurescu called for the mobilization of serious financial assistance from the international community to enable the Moldovan authorities to cope with the energy crisis, stabilize public finances and support the government's ongoing reforms. Bogdan Aurescu stressed Romania's position that it is necessary to recognize a clear European perspective for Moldova. He also announced that Romania will host the second Ministerial Conference of the Support Platform for Moldova in Bucharest.// 05.04.2022 — InfoMarket
