Germany will provide Moldova with a loan of 50 million euros to help overcome the Ukrainian refugee crisis and solve other problems.

This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, speaking on April 5 in Berlin at the launched international conference to support Moldova (Moldova Support Conference). She noted that the Federal Chancellor decided to provide Moldova with an unrelated loan in the amount of 50 million euros. “Thus, the German federal government wants to provide financial assistance to a country that is facing huge political and financial problems, and also, in particular, due to the large number of refugees from Ukraine accepted and the increase in electricity costs. No country has so far accepted more refugees from Ukraine in relation to the number of inhabitants than Moldova,” Annalena Baerbock said. She noted that Moldova will receive other support in the near, medium and long term, including for the implementation of the reform program, improving energy security, fighting corruption, developing the economy, strengthening border management, etc.// 05.04.2022 — InfoMarket
