
Over the 11 years since its creation, Balti FEZ has attracted investments in the amount of $ 222 million.
By the decision of the parliament on March 4, 2010, the Balti FEZ was established. Today it is the youngest, but at the same time the largest of the 7 FEZs in the country, becoming the center of industrial revival and regional development. According to the FEZ administration, currently 78 residents are registered in the Balti free zone, where more than 11 thousand jobs have been created. The total sales amounted to 7 billion lei ($ 405 million), of which 97% are sales of industrial products. During this time, residents of the FEZ paid 429 million lei ($ 25 million) to the budget. At present, the Balti FEZ includes 19 sub-zones located in 11 regions of the country, covering all three regions of Moldova's development. Draexlmaier Automotive, G&G Cables & Wires, Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze, La Triveneta Cavi Development, USBA, Coroplast and others have located their production facilities in Balti FEZ. Within the Balti FEZ, there is an engineering college in Straseni, which trains specialists in the system of dual education. Under the auspices of the Balti FEZ, the Patronage Association of Processing Industry Enterprises (APIP) was established, which unites the largest industrial enterprises in the country.
