By the decision of the parliament on March 4, 2010, the Balti FEZ was established. Today it is the youngest, but at the same time the largest of the 7 FEZs in the country, becoming the center of industrial revival and regional development. According to the FEZ administration, currently 78 residents are registered in the Balti free zone, where more than 11 thousand jobs have been created. The total sales amounted to 7 billion lei ($ 405 million), of which 97% are sales of industrial products. During this time, residents of the FEZ paid 429 million lei ($ 25 million) to the budget. At present, the Balti FEZ includes 19 sub-zones located in 11 regions of the country, covering all three regions of Moldova's development. Draexlmaier Automotive, G&G Cables & Wires, Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze, La Triveneta Cavi Development, USBA, Coroplast and others have located their production facilities in Balti FEZ.
