Moldova will receive from Germany a new 10 million euros grant for a project to develop a water supply system in the central regions of the country.

In particular, this is provided for by an intergovernmental agreement on additional financing signed by the parties and a 10 million euros agreement on a grant to finance the project "Drinking water supply and sewerage system in central Moldova, second stage". These documents on behalf of the governments of Moldova and Germany were signed by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova and the German development bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). As noted by the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, the goal of the project is to improve the living conditions of the population by minimizing health risks and efficient use of natural resources by developing and expanding water supply services in rural areas, in particular, connecting 5 more rural settlements to the Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi water pipeline. The agreement also provides for the provision of consulting services to the Center Regional Development Agency, as well as expert services to water supply operators in Straseni and Calarasi districts in order to expand the water supply zone and in the process of restructuring. Due to this additional financing, the total project budget will reach 25 million euros allocated in gratuitous assistance. // 22.01.2021 - InfoMarket.
