The WB will facilitate Moldova's access to a $ 80 million loan allocated to it for the repair and modernization of 150 km of local roads.

This is provided for by the amendment to the financial agreement between Moldova and the International Development Association for the implementation of the project “Improvement of local roads”, ratified by the Moldovan parliament on Thursday. As representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure noted, the amendment was signed on June 18, 2020, and it does not change either the amount or the conditions for granting a loan to Moldova. The amendment was developed by the International Development Association at the request of the government and is aimed at ensuring the full implementation of the project and facilitating access to the necessary financial resources to finance the rehabilitation and modernization of at least 150 km of selected road corridors, supervise these works, conduct feasibility studies, design and performing routine maintenance on selected corridors, including access roads to them. The goal is also to improve local road management capacity, ensure accessibility to education, health care and market infrastructure along selected corridors through safe and sustainable road infrastructure. // 19.11.2020 — InfoMarket.
