The National Bureau of Statistics reported this without providing data in value terms. According to the agency, at the same time in March 2024, compared to March 2023, industrial production decreased by 0.6%. This was due to a decline in output in mining (-14.3%) and manufacturing (-8.9%), which led to a 0.3% and 6.8% decline in total industrial production, respectively. At the same time, the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning increased in March this year (+30.6%), which mitigated the 6.5% decline in total industrial production. Overall, in January-March 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, production in the extractive industry decreased by 9.8% and in the processing industry by 0.6%. At the same time, at the enterprises producing electricity, heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning, the growth amounted to 10.3%. According to statistics, in 3 months of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, growth occurred in the following segments: food processing companies (+0.6%); production of chemicals and chemical products (+46.2%); pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (+6.9%); production in the metallurgical industry (+49.3%); metal structures and products other than machinery, equipment and plants (+23.5%); production of computers, electronic and optical products (+56.2%); electrical equipment (+5.4%); machinery and equipment (+9.7%); furniture (+19.3%); motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (+0.2% The repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment section grew by 13%. At the same time, the production of following products decreased: beverages (-28.4%); textile products (-6.6%); clothing (-14.3%); paper and paper products (-2%); rubber and plastic products (-11.4%) decreased.
