This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, which previously did not provide data on industrial production for the past year in value terms. According to the NBS, the industrial sector of the economy last year was mainly determined by the activities of manufacturing enterprises, which accounted for 86.2% of the total value of manufactured industrial products in 2022. This is followed by the sector "production and supply of electrical and thermal energy, gas, hot water and air conditioning" - 10.2% of the total value, the sector "water supply; sanitation, waste management" - 2.1% and "mining industry" - 1.5%. The cost of manufactured products at current prices in 2022 in the manufacturing industry amounted to 73 billion 705.8 million lei (in 2021 - 59 billion 283 million lei), which accounted for 86.2% of the total value of products, of which in the food industry - 29 billion 605.8 million lei (in 2021 - 20 billion 208.3 million lei), which amounted to 34.6% of the total cost of production. The NBS also lists other types of economic activities that have a significant share in the value of manufactured products: production of other products from non-metallic minerals - 8.9% (products worth 7 billion 623.9 million lei were produced); beverage production - 8% (6 billion 859.2 million lei); production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers - 6.2% (5 billion 269.1 million lei); production of rubber and plastic products - 4.1% (3 billion 505 million lei); production of textile products - 3.9% (3 billion 314.5 million lei); clothing production - 3.8% (3 billion 214.8 million lei); furniture production - 3.1% (2 billion 655.4 million lei); production of substances and chemical products - 2.9% (2 billion 500.2 million lei); production of metal structures and metal products, excluding machinery, equipment and installations - 2.9% (2 billion 489.4 million lei), etc. According to official statistics, in 2022, industrial products supplied to the domestic market amounted to 64.5% of the total volume of products sold (in 2021 - 66%) and, accordingly, to the external market - 35.5% (in 2021 - 34%). An analysis by form of ownership shows that in 2022 the largest share in the total volume of manufactured industrial products accounted for private enterprises (48.9% or 41 billion 831.4 million lei), followed by joint ventures with foreign investments (20.4%, or 17 billion 398.8 million lei), foreign enterprises (19.1%, or 16 billion 300.2 million lei). The smallest share falls on enterprises of state ownership (10.5%, or 9 billion 015.6 million lei) and mixed ownership (1.1%, or 955.3 million lei). An analysis of industrial activity by development region shows that industrial activity in 2022 was concentrated in the proportion of 50.7% in Chisinau municipality, 23.8% - in the Northern region, 18.1% - in the Central region, 3.8% - in the Southern region, 3.6% - in the ATU Gagauzia.
