
In Moldova, the volume of industrial production in 2022, compared to 2021, decreased by 5.1%.
This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, without providing data in value terms. According to the agency, at the same time, in December 2022, the volume of industrial production decreased by 13.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. In general, in 2022, compared to 2021, production volumes in the extractive industry decreased by 4.9%, and in the processing industry - decreased by 4.5%. According to the NBS, food industry enterprises in January-December 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased overall production volumes by 12.1%. The production of beverages increased by 9.3%, textile production - decreased by 3.6%, clothing - increased by 4%. Tanning and leather finishing section; production of suitcases, bags, harness and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur registered an increase of 14.4%, and in the section of wood processing and production of wood and cork products, except for furniture; production of products from straw and other vegetable materials for weaving - an increase of 21.4%. The production of paper and paper products increased by 3%, while the production of chemicals and chemical products decreased by 0.2%. The output of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals increased by 19.7%, while the output of rubber and plastic products increased by 6.7%. In the metallurgical industry, production decreased by 27.3%. The output of metal structures and products, except for machines, equipment and installations, decreased by 14.8%, while in the section "production of computers, electronic and optical products" the indicator increased by 14.9%. The production of electrical equipment decreased by 59.4%, machinery and equipment - by 24.4%, and cars, trailers and semi-trailers - by 34.1%. Furniture output fell by 29.8%. In the repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment section, the decline was 23.2%. In the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning, a decline of 8.4% was noted.
