Moldovan driver’s licenses will be recognized in Ireland
Specifically, Moldovan citizens residing in Ireland will be able to exchange their driver’s licenses without additional exams. The signing of the relevant agreement has been approved by our country’s government. As noted by the Cabinet of Ministers, the agreement on the exchange of driver’s licenses, to be signed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, the Department of Transport of Ireland, and the Irish Road Safety Authority, provides for the mutual recognition and exchange of driver’s licenses without the need to take theoretical or practical exams. These provisions will benefit both Moldovan citizens and holders of driver’s licenses issued by Irish authorities who are currently in our country. The signing of the document will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations, facilitate road traffic between the two countries, and support citizens’ mobility, social integration, and access to the labor market. Currently, Moldova has similar agreements with a number of countries, including Turkey, Lithuania, Italy, Albania, Spain, Greece, France, Romania, Israel, the United Kingdom, etc. // 01.04.2026 — InfoMarket
