The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization supports policies to strengthen economic resilience and accelerate the transition to a green and digital economy

This was announced by Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu during the first meeting of the steering committee of the project "Engaging the Moldovan Diaspora and Local Stakeholders in the Implementation of the Second National Climate Change Adaptation Program," implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Moldova. Eugen Osmochescu chaired the meeting along with IOM Head of Mission in Moldova Ester Ruiz de Azura. He noted that adaptation to climate change is becoming a prerequisite for sustainable and resilient economic development, and integrating these aspects into public policy is a strategic imperative. Eugen Osmochescu emphasized that the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization promotes the link between economic competitiveness and the green transition and digital transformation, providing support, in particular, to small and medium-sized enterprises in increasing their resilience through energy-efficient technologies, innovation, and diversification. According to him, investing in clean technologies, developing skills for the green and digital economy, and promoting ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles contribute to increased competitiveness and compliance with international standards. Diaspora engagement represents a strategic opportunity, and the IOM initiative in Moldova creates an important foundation for sustainable partnerships, knowledge transfer, and effective solutions. "We remain committed to supporting policies aimed at strengthening economic resilience and accelerating the transition to a green and digital economy," the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization stated. // 30.03.2026 — InfoMarket
